What lifts you up when you’re down?
In Psalm 130, God teaches us that he is able to hear us when we’re screaming for help at the bottom of the sea. This is a reason to sing!
But there’s more! At the root of our trouble—indeed, at the root of all trouble—is sin. Not only does God hear us when we call out to him, but he also forgives us and saves us completely. He made a way for this plan by sending his Son Jesus. Jesus saves his people from their sin.
God does this because he is the God who redeems. He is the God of steadfast love. He never gives up on his people; he will never let them perish; he will always hear them, forgive them, and save them.
Therefore, let’s wait with hopeful expectation for the LORD to do what he does best. When you’re down, look to Him to lift you up.
